Using a Gravatar for your personal brand

Using a Gravatar for your personal brand – I’ve talked about creating a personal brand in my previous post and how this can benefit you online. If you have an online business or are thinking of having one or intend to comment on internet forums and blogs, then using a good picture of you allows people to “see” who they are dealing with.  Using a Gravatar for your personal brand

Psychological research shows that people make more of a connection when they can see a visual image. Face to face is ideal of course, but when this is not possible, a good picture can help people identify with you and build all important trust.

In this post, I’ll share a very useful tool I have found-Gravatar

Using a Gravatar for your personal brand

Your Gravatar is a Globally Recognised Avatar and is an image (of you) that follows you around the web for when you want to comment on a blog or forum, using your picture. This includes commenting on your own blogs.

A Gravatar helps to identify you, and for people to relate to you that little bit more. It looks a lot better than the default grey image you get on forums and blogs comments sections too!

How to get your own Gravatar

Here’s how to get your very own Gravatar to enhance your posts and comments:

  1. Click on the Gravatar link above
  2. Enter some details about yourself
  3. Upload your picture
  4. Link it to your e.mail address

Watch the video clip here:  Using a Gravatar for your personal brand and see how a free Gravatar can make your online life easier!

Some of the benefits of using a Gravatar:

  • It looks professional and encourages more comments
  • A Gravatar means one consistent Avatar across the web
  • A consistent image to represent yourself improves your branding
  • People feel like they are interacting with a real person
  • It is very simple to set up and use

The bottom line-having a Gravatar is a very easy way to add personality to your own blog and anything you comment on across the web. This helps to build relationships and develop trust.

I hope this is useful. Please feel free to add your thoughts and comments below and I’ll see you on the next post!

To Your Success!
